Samia watches the whole world closely, analyzing sounds, movements, lights, and the details of the world around her, and transforming them into abstract art that evokes a sense of familiarity and creates a personal relationship with every viewer. She became a pioneering abstract artist and an influential professor in Palestinian art. Samia Halaby has lived in New York since 1976, without ever ceasing to visit her homeland Palestine, which was, and still is, present in her work and her life. Samia has participated in many Arab and international exhibitions, and her works continue to be held in many museums around the world.
