My Story with Mathematics

As Palestinians, we live through multiple occupations: the most obvious is the military occupation, and the least apparent is the mental, epistemic and cognitive occupation (despite it being the most dangerous and profound). It is an occupation that resides in the darkness such that we are unaware of it; even worse, we compete over who can embrace it most! Both are settler-colonialisms, in the sense that the first uproots people and communities from their lands, tears their relationship with it, and plunders what they possess to bring strangers in their place, while the second uproots knowledge and meanings from their very foundations in life.
