After their parents’ death, the two children, Anna and Matthew, move to the village of Myra to live with Fabio the farmer. There they face hunger, cold, and grueling labor, until they follow a red bird across snow-filled mountains to reach “Sunny Meadow,” the land of light, sun, and hope.
