The Flying Dragon and the Yellow Cow

A picture book that includes the Palestinian story “The Yellow Cow” and the Italian story “The Flying Dragon.” The first is a collection from the children of Arab Al-Ramadin, south of Hebron in southern Palestine; the second is a story from Italian heritage, written and told by the children of a multicultural primary school in the city of Milan, in northern Italy. At the start, the children engaged in experiences related to folk tales and creative writing exercises. Then they learned how to record stories told primarily by grandfathers and grandmothers. As a result of this experience, the children were able to gather many stories that still need further development. These stories come from oral history connected to folk stories and popular tales, through a partnership between Tamer Institute for Community Education and Vento di Terra Foundation, with support from the Swedish Anna Lind Foundation.
