In that dark cave, Nour’s memory returned to the time when her parents died and her uncle took her to live in his house. Then her memory led her to the moment she discovered she could light fire simply by thinking: “Oh my God, how much trouble that brought me.” Then her grandmother, who had given her love and care, died and left her alone. How happy she was when her aunt invited her to spend the winter holiday at her home in Jericho, and how she found there a black cat that led her to a cave in the archaeological excavation where her father had worked. There she discovered that the black cat was in fact one of the jinn; her name was Sabiqa. How terrified she was when Sabiqa told her that the invisible wall between the human world and the world of jinn and other beings would collapse and chaos would spread, unless Nour saved the world. To do that, she had to find four feathers from each thunderbird at the moment it burned. And now she sets off on another adventure, thrilling and frightening, in the depths of time, to complete what she began a thousand years ago.
