Tamer Institute for Community Education conducted two workshops on creative writing and literary criticism with the Swedish writer Linda Holmer in March 2020. Holmer currently works as a lecturer in the Department of Arts and Design at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. She is an editor, writer, and illustrator, and, as she describes herself, often unsure about things. Linda is interested in navigating the boundaries between what is personal and challenging to share and what is self-referential and capable of emerging in creative ways. She believes that within each of us, there is a repository of stories waiting to come into existence. She explores how to evoke memories and hidden aspects of ourselves to unleash our imaginative capacities. In other words, Holmer's approach invites us to embark on a journey of self-exploration and the interplay between our inner selves and the surrounding environment. It encourages us to delve into the depths that reside within us, supporting and accompanying us during the writing process, to create a closely related illustrated book that reflects our life experiences, style, and literary identity.
