  The Forgotten Village Initiative

Proceeding from Tamer Foundation's vision of an educational Palestinian society based on the importance of experience and the accumulation of knowledge related to the Palestinian society's belief in its ability to produce and change, stemming from the self and the importance of its role in building a solid societal fabric. For services, and in this context, the "Forgotten Village" initiative was launched, which is the common name among the Swedish camp residents, located on the Palestinian-Egyptian border from the coastal side.
With the participation of youth teams and the Foundation’s work team in Rafah Governorate, and within the community initiatives implemented by the Foundation, the initiative was based mainly on documenting the history of the village and the reasons for its existence in this border area as one of the consequences of the displacement of Palestinians from their lands in 1948. The initiative was a basic output related to recording the story of the camp's Historical events told by its residents through a documentary film that monitors the historical events that the camp’s residents have gone through in recent decades, and the difficulties of living, moving, and accessing places and educational and health services that children are exposed to specifically in that area.
