I am Palestinian Sometimes when I sit all by myself, I feel that life is passing me by. I look at the world, I see people laughing and I thank God that they still have a reason to laugh. I see people crying and I thank God that they still have a reason to cry. I see a happy family and I thank God that they still have each other. I see children playing and I thank God that they still know hope and that they have not had to face the troubles of life yet. I look at all these people thinking that I am not one of them. I feel like a stranger watching the world. People say that when they look into my eyes they see nothing but depression. They think of me as a desperate little girl who has no hope in life. I don’t know if I am really that desperate but I know that I hate to see anyone like me, a person without hope, without dreams. Live your life. Life is worth it. You may think “how come she says that life is worth living, yet she is not enjoying it?!” Well, it is just that I know life is worth living but I don’t feel like living it right now!! Don’t mind my desperation; just enjoy your life, you only live once. No one should be surprised by my words, not if they know I am a Palestinian… Written by: Sarah Kuhail 16 years old West Bank
